Attention Red-Alpha Squad

Mission Codename: Sanguine Shield

After Rendezvous at DS9 set course for the old Dominion internment camp 371.

Our probes are reporting a suspicious lack of Dominion activity and we have been unable to raise anyone on sub-space.

According to contacts in the Ferengi Trade Authority there is a gathering of refugees in the Torad system, they have been fleeing the Borg operating near that Sector.

Captain Anders is to coordinate diplomatic contacts with the Vorta and Jem’Hedar at the first opportunity.

After securing camp 371 Alpha Squad will set scouting patrols in the sector. I recommend Captain Lee as a temporary commander for the camp until we can place a permanent operations staff on duty.


At this time, with the lack of communication, I will prepare to lead a mission to the Founder Homeworld. I am not much of a diplomat but I hope the Founder Odo will understand my concerns and Starfleet’s and support our efforts to establish a new Gamma Quadrant presence.

Red Squadron Command Log:

Operation Sanguine Shield is now in motion. Captain Anders and his team are enroute to secure camp 371 and I await a report on their progress. Even with the help of the wormhole the logistical considerations of this mission require us to move forward in a staged fashion.

Before I can move to secure our position at the strategic level I must let Red-Alpha Squad assess the situation in Dominion Space first hand and establish our forward base at Camp 371.

I have been privy to “rumors” that the Dominion is fractured. It seems that after Odo’s return there was a great deal of change among the Founder population on their homeworld. Their Great Link, where the creatures live in communion, has been depleted as more and more parts of the Link have ventured forth to see the wonders and horrors which they have wrought.

The Changelings began to take on a more active role in running their empire and after a little progress something went wrong. It may have been when a few Changelings, who had gone into hiding in the Alpha Quadrant after the Dominion Wars, returned and convinced some of their brethren that they had been duped by the Federation.

The Ferengi have kept up trade in the Gamma Quadrant all this time so I believe that Ferengi commerce may have been compromised by Changelings. My sources speak of a split among the Founders and rogue Changelings but I can confirm none of it.

One thing that is certain is that the Borg have been slowly encroaching on sectors that are near Dominion Space. To believe the rumors, the Borg have decided that since the Changelings cannot be assimilated that they must be exterminated.

Another point of concern is that the Bajoran Government has been reticent to give me any useful information about the progress of resettlement on New Bajor. I have sent word to the Kai asking for her help. Since we have had some acquaintance in the past I believe she may be able to assist me.

Red Squadron Command Log:

I expect a final report within 48 hours on the feasibility of retaining our hold on Camp 371.
Captain Anders and Red-Alpha have been taking evasive tactics to make our approach to the old internment camp less visible. I have authorized them to use random course adjustments to confuse any observers.

The last thing we want is for that base to be fortified against us. If this were to turn into a confrontation before we secure our forward position I would consider ourselves tactically exposed to risk.

I will be meeting with the Kai this evening. Whatever it is the Bajoran's know about the latest events in the Gamma Quadrant should be interesting since it would seem they have yet to fill in their friends in San Francisco, not to mention anyone else in the Alpha Quadrant.

Red Squadron Command Log:

Red-Alpha has become bogged down investigating sensor anomalies and trying to find the missing Dominion presence. It is possible that the Dominion is no more.

Meanwhile my visit with the Kai was disturbing. If I did not know better I would say that she does not remember me. Several months ago I had an entire philosophical debate with her about using Bajoran religious artifacts for Starfleet military objectives. She won the debate and missed a chance to remind me of it and then she seemed oblivious to the fact that we had fought the Romulan's side by side. I fear the worst.

All units report. Red Squadron will be assembling at DS9 for immediate redeployment to the Gamma Quadrant. Captain Anders please advise all units of the telemetry on Camp 371. We have gone in and had a look, now lets go set up the flag. I will lead a task force in support to keep communications open and establish contact with the Dominion, or what's left of it.
Stand by for deployment assignments within 24 hours.

The Arkansas has taken some damage to her warp nacelles during the Ion Storm and is going to be at DS9 a few days patching up. I am ordering all able hands to prepare to rendezvous at New Bajor. We will establish a secure line of communication from there. I mean to find out what is going on in Dominion Space before we walk into the trap we are all smelling.

Make ready for a defense of the Bajor Sector.

I am reviewing options but I believe that there may be no placating the Klingon’s this time.

If Starfleet has any diplomats up there sleeve now would be the time…….

...If we can determine a likely vector for a Klingon attack I propose we move to intercept in deep space and make sure no civilians get hurt.

CODE – ONE – ZETA


This is an Alpha-One Priority Transmission to all Starfleet Captains.

We have confirmed Klingon aggression within Federation Space.
There have been attacks against Starbase 57 and Starbase Crimson with heavy casualties.

There have also been confirmed sightings of Klingon vessels de-cloaking near shipping lanes and scanning nearby systems.

It has been calculated that the Klingons are probing our defenses and taking out vital communication points before they take any decisive action.

Rumors from the Klingon Empire indicate that the Households that are engaged in the current hostilities are not endorsed by the Ruling Council. This is hopeful as it means that the Klingon incursions may not indicate a full-scale invasion.

I am taking the Iron Maiden and Olympias on a recon of the Cardassian border. Red-Alpha, stand by at DS9 perimeter. Reserve units resume patrols at standard intervals.

All units should have received the latest code breaking algorithms. We need that code cracked to give us the edge.

Let’s get to work and stay frosty out there people.

Operation Jabberwocky is now commencing.

Jabberwocky has a four-fold strategic agenda.

First Section: under the Command of Captain Raymond Anders, Red-Alpha Squad will resume the objectives of Sanguine Shield and precede to secure Internment Camp 371 with all due speed. Recent developments have made our securing this base in the Gamma Quadrant all the more urgent.

Third Section: Captain Hect Lee, Head of Fleet Security will head our patrols in HQ sector. The Balance of Red-HQ Squad under the Command of Admiral Zakk will continue repairs on Starbase Crimson. Captain Alvar Komodo, Head of HQ-Squad Engineering is authorized to take this opportunity to apply the defensive modifications that he has suggested.

Fourth Section: I will be taking the Iron Maiden on a “House-call” and will be operating under a communication blackout for the next 48 hours.
