Personality:
Friendly, but difficult to deal with. Confrontation is his preferred style of dealing with situations. However, Rubik can always be counted on when it matters.


Political views:
Rubik has deep, zealous political views. He believes in everything the Federation of Planets symbolizes, except for the acceptance of non-Terrans on Earth and interspecies mating. The idea that non-Terrans are more intelligent, or superior in any way, disgusts him. Despite his xenophobic tendencies, Rubik will gladly serve alongside androids and holograms, and he often supports efforts that further artificial lifeforms' civil rights.

Service record:
He helped in Holographic Fractal Geometry research at Jupiter Station. However, Rubik did teach a mathematics class on Fractals at the University of California, Berkeley for 15 years.

Character background:

Born to Alexander and Lauren Rubik, Xavier was the son of a naval surgeon and a substitute teacher. He lived a happy but uneventful life. Unfortunately, on the day before Rubik's thirteenth birthday in 2352, he was assaulted by two off-world students at the local college. The incident led his parents to move to the San Francisco area where they believed family would help emotionally heal Xavier. At his new school and feeling alienated by the presence of so many non-Terrans, Rubik would be enticed by a group of followers of Colonel Green. This group of xenophobic friends would convince Rubik that all non-Terrans were impure. That is to say, "To be human is to be pure." While this group of xenophobes were not an active gang, they did help Rubik with his high school senior project of building a museum exhibit room for his local library. Accepted into the University of California Berkeley, Rubik received education in an environment that nurtured his natural gift for mathematics, specifically Fractals. After receiving his Ph.D., Rubik was brought on as an assistant professor of Mathematical Fractals. With the death of his entire family in the Breen Assault on the San Francisco area, he decided that it was time to put the xenophobic rhetoric he had studied for so long to work. Dispelling his delusion of seeing combat in the Dominion war, Starfleet thought with his age and education he would be better suited for research on Holographic Fractal Geometry on Jupiter Station.
